No ‘Puck Luck’ for White Hawks Boys Hockey

By Bill LaTour When a goalie plays a superb game by stopping shots that seem destined to end up in the back of the net, it is said that the goalie is “standing on his head.” This week the Mound Westonka High School boys hockey team ran into two goaltenders who were not only “standing […]

Spartans End Boys Hockey’s Win Streak

By Bill LaTour Beating conference rival Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato 3-2 on Jan. 17 placed the Mound Westonka High School boys hockey team on a mini-roll. It marked the White Hawks’ first three-game winning streak of the season, in fact the first three-game winning streak in over three seasons. The streak also propelled the White Hawks to crack […]

Boys Hockey Takes Two of Three

By Bill LaTour Three games in four days made a busy week for the Mound Westonka High School boys pucksters, but winning two of three and losing the third in overtime (albeit to archrival Orono) is not too shabby. Versus the Orono Spartans on Jan. 10, the White Hawks found themselves down by two goals […]
