The Westonka Activities Department is proud to name Mound Westonka High School senior Joe Duffy Westonka Athletic/Activities Student of the Week for the week of Oct. 19, 2015.
Recent football highlights: Duffy wreaked havoc on a weekly basis on the White Hawks’ defensive line this season, finishing with 45 tackles, five tackles for loss, six sacks and 11 quarterback hurries.
Comments from head coach Nick David: Joe Duffy had a tremendous season on both the offensive and defensive lines. He paved the way as a blocker on the offensive line to help us rush for almost 2,000 yards this season. Joe is the epitome of a ‘lunch pal’ type of player, who was usually the first one to practice/offseason training and the last one to leave. Joe worked extremely hard this past offseason to get into the prestigious 1,000-lb. Club, and it was great to see his hard work pay off this season!
