The win streak continued for the Mound Westonka High School boys tennis team with a win in Buffalo on April 13. The boys topped the Bison 5-2 in cold and windy conditions.
The White Hawks posted wins at all four singles positions: senior Tony Levens, 6-0, 6-0; junior Victor Nelson, 6-1, 6-2; eighth-grader Jack Linder, 7-5, 6-1; and junior Reed Kohls, 7-6, 6-1. Also posting a win was the third doubles team of juniors Trey Courneya and Jonathan Neve, 6-4, 6-4.

On April 18, Holy Family traveled to MWHS for the White Hawks’ first conference match of the season. Once again, the conditions were windy and cold, but the home team prevailed with a 5-2 win.
Coming out on top for the White Hawks were Nelson at second singles, 6-4, 4-6, 6-2; Linder at third singles, 6-1, 6-0; Kohls at fourth singles, 6-0, 6-0; junior Torsten Lee and senior Andrew LaFortune at first doubles, 7-5, 6-4; and Courneya and Neve at third doubles, 6-1, 6-3. Also winning for the White Hawks was the exhibition doubles team of junior Adam Hoogeveen and ninth-grader Nick Brown, 6-4, 6-1.
The MWHS varsity team is now 4-0 overall and 1-0 in conference play. The JV team is also 4-0 with 5-2 wins against Buffalo and Holy Family. Next up for the White Hawks are games against Chanhassen at home on Monday, April 24; at New Prague on Tuesday, April 25; and at home against Hutchinson on Thursday, April 27.
