The Mound Westonka High School football team won its first two games by a combined nine points, but in the last two games the White Hawks have outscored their opponents 89-0. The White Hawks blew out Class 4A Academy Force 40-0 on Sept. 22 to improve to 4-0.
The game started out looking like another close game for the White Hawks, as the score was just 7-0 in the first quarter. However, everything went right for the White Hawks in the second quarter, as they scored two touchdowns, a field goal, and a safety to take a 26-0 lead into the half.
The White Hawks scored two touchdowns in the second half, and they managed to continue their 20-game regular season win streak which started on August 22, 2015. The big playmakers were senior Bobby Sweet, who rushed for 178 yards and caught a touchdown; senior Evan Dahl, who had 152 yards receiving and two scores; and junior quarterback Brandon Hokkanen, who was 8-for-12 on passing and threw for a 164 yards and four touchdowns in his dominant performance.
The White Hawks play again on the road Sept. 29 against the Providence Academy Lions, who are 3-1 on the season, only losing to undefeated and number one ranked St. Croix Lutheran.
