As part of the 2017-2018 Westonka Public Schools centennial celebration, the Westonka Activities Department is bringing back the time-honored tradition of the Homecoming button. The winning design in the 2017 Homecoming Button Contest was created by Mound Westonka High School junior Joey Colianni Jr.
This year’s button contest was sponsored by Scotty B’s Restaurant in Mound. Westonka students in grades K-12 were eligible to participate, and 15 total designs were submitted.
As the contest winner, Colianni will receive a White Hawks All-Season Sports Pass, five free Homecoming buttons with his design and special recognition at Homecoming 2017. Each student who submitted a button design will receive a $10 gift certificate to Scotty B’s (please see Activities Director Jeff Peterson to claim your prize).
The 2017 Homecoming buttons will be for sale for $5 apiece during Homecoming Week and at the football game on Friday, Oct. 6.
