Mound Westonka High School senior Evan Dahl was selected to the Individual Class 4A Academic All-State Football Team. Academic All-State team members must be senior varsity lettermen for the current season who are starters on offense, defense or kickers.
Selected players must have outstanding football and leadership abilities in addition to academic excellence. They must carry a 3.0 (4.0 scale) grade point average in an academic core curriculum in their sophomore, junior and first quarter of senior years, and they must not have any Minnesota State High School League eligibility penalties or infractions during their high school careers.
Dahl carries a 3.84 cumulative GPA and excelled on the football field throughout his career. He was selected to the Twin Cities All-District Team as a wide receiver, defensive back, and returner the past two seasons as well as he was selected to the All-Metro team this year. Dahl was also recently selected to play in the 2017 MN High School All-Star Football Game. Dahl finished this season with 52 receptions for 998 Yards and 7 TD’s touchdowns. He also had 2 rushes for 56 Yards and a 2 Point Conversion. Defensively, Dahl finished the season with 36 total tackles, 1 TFL, 1 fumble recovery, 1 forced fumble, 5 interceptions, and 4 pass deflections. Dahl was also a standout on special teams returning 15 kicks for 457 Yards (30.5 Yards per Return) and 2 TD’s.
