Mound Westonka High School senior Jonathan Neve was recently named to the 2017 Star Tribune All-Metro Football First Team Defense as a kicker and punter. The All-Metro teams were chosen based on nominations from metro-area coaches, conversations with a panel of coaches and staff observations.
Neve led the state in made field goals this season, going 10-for-15 on field goals and 33-for-34 on extra points. He also consistently flipped the field for the White Hawks with eight punts inside the opposition’s 20-yard line.
“Jon has been such an asset to our team the past two seasons, constantly coming through with big kicks and punts when we needed them,” said White Hawks head coach Nick David. “We just knew, week in and week out, what we were going to get out of him and were very confident in him coming through in every situation that we put him in.”
In addition to football, Neve was the starting goaltender for the White Hawks boys soccer team, which made it to the section finals this fall.
