This year is the 25th anniversary of girls hockey in the State of Minnesota and the 21st year that the sport has been offered at Mound Westonka High School. After partnering with Orono and then Holy Family, the White Hawks now have a co-op with Watertown-Mayer (one player) and Southwest Christian Academy (two players). The other 30 players on this year’s team are from MWHS.
The 2018-2019 season kicks off with a home game against New Ulm on Friday, Nov. 9. The Eagles were in the state tournament a year ago and prevailed over the White Hawks 3-2 in last season’s opener. It will also be Grandparents’ Night.
On Saturday, Dec. 22, the White Hawks will have an alumni game following the 1 p.m. varsity game vs. Hopkins/St. Louis Park. All White Hawks alumni from the past 21 years are invited to the high school game free of charge, the alumni game and the reception following at Thaler Arena.
