The Westonka Speech Team competed at the season favorite Marshall Speech Spectacular Jan. 25-26, when nearly 40 students participated. While several competitors broke into out rounds, Mound Westonka High School juniors Anders Erdahl and Grace Hanson both made it to the podium, where Erdahl placed fifth in discussion and Hanson was sixth.
Last weekend, the team competed in the Prior Lake Invitational and had another successful outing. Sophomore Josh Nkhata double broke in both CRX and Dramatic Interpretation, earning the coveted top spot in the difficult CRX category and placing third in Next In Finals for Dramatic Interpretation.
Additionally, junior Trinity Bielke was the champion for Next In Creative Expression. Junior Adam Born placed third in Next In Storytelling, and junior Michael Andreyeschev placed third in Varsity Humorous.
Coach Kelsey Rausch said, “Way to go, Westonka Speech!”
