The Mound Westonka High School boys golf team won the 2019 Wright County Conference West division, edging out New London-Spicer by 10 strokes. This was the third title for the program in the past four seasons.
“The squad this season was different from past teams in that we had a variety of players fire the lowest score in different meets,” said coach Andy Atkinson. “It was nice to not have to depend on the same person over and over.”
Emphasizing that point, the White Hawks squad had the largest number of players to earn All-Conference honors in the team’s history: sophomore Mitch Krebsbach, junior Noah Alvig, eighth-grader Matthew Uhas and senior Ben Schmalz.
Other key contributors to the team’s success include senior JP Oftedahl, junior Blake Harmer, sophomore Sean Weber and eighth-grader Max Krebsbach.
