To honor our students, staff, community members and especially our Mound Westonka High School seniors, Westonka Schools has joined districts across the state and nation in the #BeTheLightMN movement. On Friday nights this spring, lights at Haddorff Field have flipped on at 8:00 p.m. for 20 minutes and 20 seconds.
On Friday, May 29, we will pay special recognition to the entire MWHS Class of 2020 on their originally scheduled graduation date. Please join us in posting photos, memories and messages to our White Hawks seniors on social media using the hashtags #BeTheLightMN and #MWHSPride.
As a reminder, Haddorff Field and Westonka’s other athletic facilities are currently closed to students and the public. Please do not gather under the lights, but you may enjoy them from your car as you drive by. We will post photos and videos to our Twitter account, @GoWhiteHawks.
Westonka Activities Director Jeff Peterson had the following message for this year’s graduating class:
Congrats to the Class of 2020 – you did it and you did it in an unconventional way. The last few months have made you stronger and will help shape you in a positive way. I’ve always believed that 90% of your success in life is based on how you respond. You’ve responded to the current situation in a way that will help you be successful in the future. Congrats and good luck!
