White Hawks Student-Athletes Sign College Letters of Intent

By Lorrie Ham Five White Hawks seniors have committed to pursuing academics and athletics at the college level next year. Grace Peterson, Logan Leonard, Carissa Richie, Josh Johnston and Brooke Pioske made their decisions official by signing National Letters of Intent. All were recognized by Mound Westonka High School on National Signing Day, February 3.

MWHS Student-Athletes Participate in Early Signing Day

Three senior Mound Westonka High School student-athletes participated in National Early Signing Day on Nov. 11, 2020. Josh Johnston signed a National Letter of Intent to swim with the University of Minnesota, Carissa Richie will join the Southern Utah University volleyball team, and Grace Peterson will play lacrosse at the U.S. Naval Academy next year. OMW Boys Swim Team Sends Athletes to State Meet

By Stacey Royal The Orono/Mound Westonka boys swim and dive team competed in the Class 2A Section meet at Richfield Middle School Feb. 20 and 22. Junior Josh Johnston from MWHS, and sophomore John Fort, ninth-grader Franklin Schwendimann and sophomore Nick Fogle from OHS will all move onto the state competition Feb. 27-29 for individual events.
