The Watertown-Mayer/Mound Westonka girls gymnastics team won the Section 5A championship meet Feb. 18 to move on to the state team tournament. Gymnastics Team Claims Conference Title

The Watertown-Mayer/Mound Westonka varsity gymnastics team claimed the Wright County Conference Championship, winning with a season high over Waconia and Orono on Jan. 28. Mound Westonka High School ninth-grader Teagan Schmidt led the team on bars, taking first place. Schmidt also pulled off an impressive second-place performance on beam and second place on floor.

The Watertown-Mayer/Mound Westonka varsity gymnastics team competed Jan. 23 in the Class A State True Team meet in Willmar against the best teams in Minnesota.
